New issue of Atomix Mag available now, along with the new version of the app (2.0)

After several months of work, we are glad to announce that the latest issue of Atomix Mag is available now for free. As part of our new strategy, we have decided to publish the magazine completely for free from now on.
We believe this is a great opportunity to get a massive, global audience all around the world. We truly believe in the magazine as an original product that we need to share with everyone who loves videogames and owns an iPad.
We’re confident that this is the best decision to ensure the magazine’s success. 2012 will be an important year for Atomix Mag, and we hope you can stay and continue with us in this amazing adventure that started last April.
But wait, there’s more! We also have an important announcement about the new version of the app (v2.0).
Subscription Support
It’s here and better than you expected: free subscriptions. Each issue will be available for free, but you will have the option to subscribe for free as well so you don’t have to worry about new issues being released. This is the option we recommend to all our users. The more subscribers we have, the better things are for the future of our publication. Please subscribe!
Newsstand Support
Atomix Mag is now fully compatible with Newsstand on your iPad. From now on, you will no longer see the app icon in the iPad. Each cover will appear automatically inside Newsstand and will be replaced with the latest cover every time a new issue is available. If you are subscribed, every new issue will download automatically in the background or you’ll be notified about the new issue available if your Atomix Mag app is not running.
System updates
• The magazine loads faster.
• New download system design; once you are downloading the issue, the download will continue even if you restart the app or the iPad.
• New “installing issue” notification has been added.
More stability and general improvements
• We continue to make the app more stable. We also added new graphical effects when you run or close an issue of the magazine.
• We fixed the problems related to the download and installation process as well as minor bug fixes.
Now let’s talk about the new issue
We’re really proud to announce our most content-rich issue not only in terms of articles and video, but also in the form of interactivity and sound design. In the last months of 2011, we saw the release of many AAA games, like Skyrim, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Uncharted 3.
But Atomix Mag is more than a mainstream video game magazine, as we are aware of the influence of classic games as well as other forms of gaming like iOS titles.
That’s why in this issue, you’ll find a wide spectrum of content. Here’s the exclusive content for Issue #8 of Atomix Mag:
• New Super Mario Bros. 3D — Has Nintendo finally developed the missing link between 2D and 3D Mario?
• Buried Treasure — We take a look at one of the most beloved Japanese developers.
• Vox Populi — Lexaloffle Games’ Voxatron re-imagines the legendary Voxel for the modern era.
• Kill Ten Rats — MMOs have enough potential to fulfill even our wildest childhood fantasies. We get back to the genre’s origins to explain its fundamental flaws.
• Plastic Toys — Is Skylanders the ultimate toy or just an evil plan to take all of our money?
• Jobs — A small tribute to the man that made Atomix Mag possible in its current form.
• iOS — A look at three great experiences for your iPad. We talk about how iOS has become a strong platform to welcome games like Aquaria, Katamari Amore, and Scribblenauts Remix.
• Hollowed: A Dark Souls Narrative Part II — The second part of the well-received story about one of the hardest (and most rewarding) experiences of 2011.
• Lost — Is Uncharted 3 the same must-play experience as its predecessors? We take a deep look to find out its flaws and achievements.
• Cover feature: Skyrim — We analyze one of the RPGs that define this generation. Explore Skyrim thanks to our interactive video map.
• The Six of Seabass — Can Pro Evolution Soccer regain its lost fan base? We asked the man in charge this and other important questions.
• Fujibayashi’s Zelda — Our editors wrote about some of the most interesting and unknown Zeldas to date.
• Take your bombs off — Why Zelda games are like your microwave.
• Legend — A Zelda you can fall in love with.
• Call of Jury: Internal Warfare — We analyze the struggle Infinity Ward endured to develop Modern Warfare 3.
• The Brink of Time — Chrono Trigger: one of the most beloved RPGs ever. We take a different approach to express how important is to us.
Take a sneak peak of it here:
Before you download the new issue, it’s important to first update the app to the latest version (2.0).
In order to get the best experience out of all those benefits, we recommend you to follow these easy steps:
1) Update the Atomix Mag app to the latest version (2.0). You can do this from iTunes or directly on your iPad.
2) Make sure you have at least 1GB free in your device. This is necessary for the magazine to install correctly.
3) Make sure your Internet connection is working properly before starting the download, and remember: Your iPad needs to be connected to the Internet during the whole process.
4) If you’re having any problems, please try to uninstall the Atomix Mag app and then reinstall it again. Don’t worry, you will never be charged for the issues you’ve already bought.
5) For better performance, we recommend closing all other apps while the installation of the magazine is running.
6) We strongly recommend you download one issue at a time.
Now we invite you to download Issue #8 of Atomix Mag. We hope you enjoy experiencing it as much as we did creating it.
