Atomix Mag Issue #5 is out and live!

Atomix Mag is not a static magazine, but at the same time, we are concerned with not losing ourselves in that sea of information which flood our screens every day. This new issue is a step forward in both directions. You will notice that we have learned so much about how a digital iPad magazine should read in terms of interactivity and new forms of content to experiment with. You will also see in this new issue that a lot of contributing editors from around the world are part of it. Our original idea was to create a global magazine with high-quality standards for a global public, and that idea is stronger than ever.

This month, you’ll enjoy an exclusive video feature about Hideo Kojima, one of the most important and influential video game developers in the industry. We followed him on his trip from Mexico to Costa Rica and talked with him about his future with Kojima Productions, the new FOX Engine, his favorite movies, and more. We also have a feature about the video games industry in Australia as well as an interview with the studios behind Sound Shapes, one of the most anticipated games for the PS Vita. We also sat down and talked with Kudo Tsunoda, the man behind the development of Xbox 360 Kinect.

Atomix Mag is a timeless magazine. We care about the present, past, and future of video games. The feature Video Games: The Basketball is all about how the industry should learn more from sports like football, soccer, and basketball. On Friday, March 4 2011, following the final day of the Game Developers Conference, the creators of the then soon-to-be-released iOS sensation Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP joined AREA 5, Atomix editors, and mutual friends in the middle of San Francisco’s Golden Gate park for a conversation on a log.
